Here is the modified patch which now applies cleanly against the trunk. dune-grid
builds [1] if you add an additional short patch to the reference elements, which I attach.
The GenericGeometry unit tests perform as well as they do without the patch (3 out of 5). t

I left the reinterpret_cast as it is.  Its replacement is a separate step.

Please review the patch and comment on it, or commit it if you think it is okay.

[1] UGGrid does not build, because it uses the BasicGeometry default constructor,
which the patch removes.  I am not sure what the best solution is.
